Updates

To address all of the feedback (and bugs) we’ve received from the play testing sessions, we’ve begun to use a Trello board to track everything.

It would’ve been more useful in the beginning to use a Trello board since it’s very easy to use and organized. There were many changes to make after play testing so this board is useful to see who’s working on what task or bug. The board is constantly updated. In the screenshot above, many small changes were made to the Tutorial and Level 1 scenes. The biggest hurdles we have to overcome now are finishing the UI, perfecting the player movement, and creating the last levels. Although Gameloft suggested to make many more levels, we’ll only be able to make 2, maybe 3, more levels with the same level of detail as level 1.

We’ve also made some changes to lighting and have finalized how it will look. After baking, the lighting will look like this:

The glowing effects are much smoother and aesthetically pleasing, and the general darkness has been increased since many play testers said the contrast between the glowing plants and environment was too high. This also prevented platform gaps to be unseen.

Another change we’re making is the collectible model. We’re now inspired the colour pink since our tree of life (ending goal of Lumen) will be glowing pink. Instead of a cube, it will be a jelly-like sphere containing a plant (similar to our character model).
